When it comes to push-ups there's tons of different variations that you could do that are beneficial to your upper body and core strength.
One of my favorite variations is the dumbbell push-up. Do I think dumbbell push-ups is better than regular push-ups?
First let's discuss the pros and cons of both of these exercises
Dumbbell Pushups:
Pros - Increased upper body strength, engages stabilizer muscles, adaptable for progressive resistance.
Cons - Requires dumbbells, can be more challenging for beginners.
Regular Pushups:
Pros - Convenient, effective for overall strength, no equipment needed, good for beginners.
Cons - Limited resistance, may plateau over time.
Now, do I think the dumbbell pushups are better than regular pushups? I wouldn't say "better" but enhances regular pushups. Dumbbell push-ups allows for a deeper range of motion as you descend towards the ground.
This extended range can help you engage more muscle fibers and activate muscles at different angles, potentially leading to greater muscle activation and development.
Adding the dumbbell pushup a long with regular pushups can be an effective way to vary your workout routine and target your muscles from different angles. This combination can help promote muscle growth, strength gains, and enhanced muscle activation.
